Really? Would you care to enlighten me then? Point me to some credible evidence that life as we know it started out from some kind of "protoplasm" and further evidence that indicates that this protoplasm spontaneously mutated into the vast variety of species we know of today.

I personally don't have any problem with natural selection in itself; for me, when evolutionists start implying things like the transmutation of species, that's when I start raising an eyebrow.
